Get choose Norigin Media for Linear OTT Platform
Get, a leading cable company in Norway has chosen Norigin Media to host and manage over 100 TV channels. The distributor who provides fibre-based broadband and premium TV services has migrated all its linear TV channels from Amazon´s AWS to Norigin Media´s Cloudncoder.
Norigin´s Linear TV hosting and transcoding platform, Cloudncoder, has been chosen to manage an OTT (over-the-top) streaming service in Scandinavia. The agreement will cover capturing, transcoding and packaging of over 100 TV channels to be delivered to a CDN (content distribution network) chosen earlier by the operator.
Cloudncoder will also be used to create catch-up content that this service offers. All the channels are encrypted by a multi-DRM (Digital Rights Management) solution.

Features such as catch-up, DVR (Digital Video Recording), time-shifting and encryption of content are customised with the Cloudncoder solution that caters to broadcasters and cable companies across Europe. Cloudncoder is already pre-integrated to all major CDNs globally as well as several multi-DRM platforms.
Marius Sonvoll Haugen, Head of Development at Get says: “We chose Norigin Media’s linear TV headend to host and transcode all our channels not only for their broadcast grade stability but also their video engineering expertise. We use the platform to create catchup and DVR features for our OTT streaming service. As a leading cable TV operator in Norway, Get is very impressed with their 24/7 operational centre and support services that caters to our custom needs.”
Ajey Anand, Norigin Media’s CEO added: “While public-cloud options are available and was used by this distributor before; broadcast-grade operations, support and downlinking services set Cloudncoder apart. As a TV tech company for OTT streaming services, we like to lead by example and are happy to announce this agreement in our home market.”
