Mobile Application Developer – Android & iOS

We are looking for an experienced Android & iOS Developer who can contribute across both mobile ecosystems and help us build and maintain high-quality streaming applications for our customers.

As an Android & iOS Developer at Norigin Media, you will work on the development, maintenance and continuous improvement of applications for both Android and iOS. You will be part of a multidisciplinary development team working closely with other developers, designers, QA engineers, product teams and our customers.

This is a hands-on development role for someone who is comfortable working across both ecosystems. We are looking for a developer with strong experience in at least one platform and solid professional development experience on the other.

Responsibilities

You will:

• Develop and maintain applications for Android and iOS
• Build high-quality, maintainable and reusable application code
• Work with Kotlin and Android SDK for Android development
• Work with Swift and iOS SDK for iOS development
• Integrate applications with APIs, backend services and third-party services
• Work with video playback and streaming technologies
• Implement user interfaces based on product and UX/UI specifications
• Participate in architecture and technical design decisions
• Troubleshoot application, device and platform-specific issues
• Write automated tests and contribute to maintaining high application quality
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to development standards and best practices
• Collaborate with QA, UX/design, backend developers and customer teams
• Follow developments in the Android and Apple ecosystems and evaluate how new platform capabilities can be used in our applications

Skills & Experience

We are looking for someone with professional software development experience across both Android and iOS.

Android

• Strong experience with Kotlin
• Good knowledge of the Android SDK and Android application lifecycle
• Experience with modern Android development practices and architecture
• Experience with Jetpack / Jetpack Compose is an advantage
• Experience integrating REST APIs and backend services

iOS

• Strong experience with Swift
• Good knowledge of the iOS SDK and Apple development ecosystem
• Experience with modern iOS application architecture
• Experience with SwiftUI and/or UIKit
• Experience integrating REST APIs and backend services

Streaming & Media Experience

As we operate within the streaming industry, experience with video applications is particularly valuable. Experience with any of the following is considered an advantage:

• Video streaming applications
• HLS and MPEG-DASH
• AVPlayer / AVFoundation
• ExoPlayer / Android Media3
• DRM technologies such as Widevine and FairPlay
• Chromecast / Google Cast
• AirPlay
• Analytics and QoE platforms
• Subscription and authentication services
• OTT, broadcaster or media applications

  Experience with Android TV, Google TV, tvOS or other Connected TV platforms is a significant advantage
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, Git workflows and application publishing through Google Play and Apple’s App Store is also beneficial
