(Thursday, June 19) We’re back in Oslo, energized after our first-ever appearance at The StreamTV Show in Denver, Colorado—and what a debut it was!
As a Bronze sponsor, we had the pleasure of showcasing our TV App Solutions & Services, connecting with a mix of familiar faces and new prospects across the broadcast streaming ecosystem. From platform operators and product leads to UX strategists and media tech innovators, the conversations reaffirmed the value of frontend-focused TV app development.
Naturally, we didn’t miss out on exploring the city either! Bison burgers were sampled, City Park was strolled, and we took a dive into the Denver Museum of Nature and Science. A well-rounded trip, to say the least.
There was a real buzz of optimism around the event. It felt to us like the industry is shifting from reactive cost-cutting toward more proactive retention strategies and UI innovation. From FAST channels to feature experimentation, there’s a growing appetite to build more meaningful, engaging viewer experiences. Nice!
Another major highlight was our CEO Ajey Anand joining a packed panel discussion, titled: “Designing for Retention: How UX Seasonality Sustains Engagement”.
Panelists:
-
Abhishek Nagaraju, VP of Product – Discovery and Experiences, Pluto TV
-
Jason Williams, VP of Product & UX, Plex
-
Bruno Giner, VP Global Sales, Digital Experience Intelligence, NPAW
-
Ajey Anand, CEO, Norigin Media
-
Moderator: Jared Newman, Tech Journalist at Cord Cutters News
Ajey made a memorable analogy comparing content UIs to a supermarket: “Some items fly off the shelves, while others need smart placement and promotion.” It sparked a light-hearted poll with the audience and surprisingly, only about 50% could clearly differentiate between Plex and Pluto TV, underlining the importance of clear, branded, content-forward UX.
A few quotes we’ll be quoting:
“If content is king, the user is the emperor.”
– Abhishek Nagaraju, Pluto TV
“Tease future content to keep users curious and engaged.”
– Jason Williams, Plex
The panel reinforced what we at Norigin Media have always championed: great UX is not just aesthetic, it’s a business strategy. Especially during off-peak content seasons, intuitive, personalized, and discoverable interfaces are what keep viewers loyal.
Until Next Time, Denver!
We left the show with new ideas, promising connections, and an even stronger belief in the value of our work. Thanks to everyone who stopped by the booth, joined the conversations, or shared a coffee with us.
