We recently polled some of our broadcasting partners on how they use Artificial Intelligence in their day-to-days, while creating Streaming services.
They were specifically asked where GenAI was used while creating or building TV Apps. They could choose from:
- Design Inspiration
- Development & Coding
- QA Automation
- Live Operations
Most of our respondents said they use AI tools for development and coding. Such tools are now easily available and trustworthy so that probably explains why the update is abundant. Microsoft´s Copilot is effectively integrated within GitHub and is hence ideal for developers and engineers to find, and of course incorporate into existing routines.
We need to check further, and soon, what these tools help accomplish while coding, documenting or during quality assurance processes of creating TV Apps. They should not only help function as an assistant to arduous or mundane tasks, but certainly have a goal to improve engineering productivity.
We must mention that we already found it interesting that hardly anyone used “standalone” AI tools for the OTT Testing-aaS and testing of multi-screen tv apps. Are test automation tools costly or do people use open source and AI for this across certain platforms like Connected TVs, but that’s another topic in this diary to come…
